[D1 ME] This Beach is Fire

[Miya Akari]

"If I ever have children that put ink in my teapot I'll likely go crazy and end up retired. But then they'd probably be sent to the temple I retire to as orphans and continue to drive me crazy," she replied with a grimace.

[Shiba Yukari]

"That does seem likely, somehow..."

Sher grinned.

"But just think of all the practice you can get for your eventual descent into lunacy!"

[Miya Akari]

"Lord Moon will be proud," she says in a playful deadpan. "No, I believe if I ever have children, the will be far more properly behaved than I am now."

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari blushed and giggled.

It didn't strike her as much of a challenge for the little ones.

"Wouldn't that also get a bit... maddening?"

[Miya Akari]

"Oh, not at all. I spend my time around a lot of people that are more proper than I am. Just need to recognize the folks that you can let the mask slip with," she replied.

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari's grin was back- a little crooked this time.

"I am flattered to have passed muster, Miya-sama."

[Miya Akari]

"Oh, you don't pass muster, you set the standard. I'd throw the mask away permanently for you," she says with a playful smile.

That got a fresh blush in the firelight, Yukari's glance flicking down to the fire.

"That would be a bit much to ask of you, Miya-sama..."

[Miya Akari]

"Do you think? Is it really asking something of me if I offer?" she asked, curious. "And I suspect that using my chosen name would be fine."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Just because an offer is made, doesn't mean that it's not a weighty one, Akari-sama."

[Miya Akari]

"Not so weighty," Akari replied with a shrug. "Not personally at least. Ramifications with others might be though." She smirked at that.

"Though imagining the gall and surprise is entertaining."

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari cocked her head to the side.

"Do you practice any arts, Akari-sama? I think you have the mindset for it."

[Miya Akari]

"Nothing creative," she admits. "The art of iai and the tea ceremony are the closest I get."

And a few things that I will show you later.

"Well. If you like, I could teach you? I've had a rather broad instruction in the arts. I think you might appreciate a creative outlet..."

[Miya Akari]

"I would not mind learning a bit," she agrees. "But what do you think would be good for me? I think I likely have equally capable tongue and fingers... for spoken or crafted art. So likely not to be particularly fit for anything specific."

[Shiba Yukari]

"If you find imaging gall and surprise entertaining... I would suggest either poetry or painting. I could shock someone with ikebana... but only if they really grasp the subtleties of ikebana and care about them. Whereas poetry is as much performance as writing, and and painting leaves you free to... indulge."

[Miya Akari]

"I think I like the sound of you teaching me to indulge Yukari-san," she said with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Perhaps with non-standard brushes..." she wiggles her fingers, "... on a non-standard canvas."

Her eyes trace the Phoenix woman's curves.

"But do we have paint available on the island? Or would we need to make our own?"

Eep!

"I brought a little with me, and I think we could probably work up some kind of pigments from local sources, once I have a better handle on what's available here."

[Miya Akari]

She nods at that. "I wonder what I might paint for my first lesson? Is that something you would tell me? Guiding through some sort of standard first shape or picture?"

"I'd probably start with flowers- since it lets you play with a variety of colors- and it tends to be hard for even the most insistent sort to be offended by one, which gives you some freedom as you learn..."
