[Miya Akari]

"It's not anything too special to be honest. The Seppun daimyo tends to be relatively busy elsewhere. The guards at any specific location just augment those that travel with."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I can imagine that this is more exciting day to day."

[Miya Akari]

"It most certainly is, thanks in no small part to the mystery that this island presents. We're here to see and do things that nobody else has ever seen or done," she agreed with a nod.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I hope everyone here has that attitude about it, this is a great opportunity in my mind but i can also see how some might view it as a punishment."

[Miya Akari]

"Well, it does keep some from family and friends back home that they miss. But I traveled with my mother when I was young, so it doesn't bother me to be away."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"So what are you hoping we find here?"

[Miya Akari]

"Success," she says. "We have a mission and I want it to be successfully completed. Not a complicated one for me.
The measure of it is decided by Hiruka-sama and others, but I just want to help the expedition succeed."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"That is the goal yes and I hope for it as well, as well as the safety of everyone here, but I meant more along the lines of wildest dreams for this place. Jade, a long lost artifact, the key to Enlightenment; those sort of things."

[Miya Akari]

The perfect lover?

"I would hope to be surprised by whatever we find. I am a fan of pleasant surprises. Some secret answer to a question we didn't know to ask."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"A good answer and defiantly something I can get behind." he nodded in agreement. "I hope to leave here with pleasant memories, new tales I can tell with my puppets to entertain children."

and maybe a few that aren't for young ears

"That or a Dragon, a Dragon would be neat."

[Miya Akari]

"I expect that plenty of pleasant memories will be made. I've already got a few from my time here. Good meals, good conversations, good nights on the beach by a fire," she replies. "Just about collecting more now."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Do you ever spend the night at the beach, is it safe enough for that? For all the talk of mystery and disappearances here it seems very peaceful and safe. A fire at the beach, sake with friends under stars while a cool breeze blows in off the water; it sounds quite enchanting. I wonder if maybe we shouldn't do that tomorrow instead of during the day."

[Miya Akari]

"I have fallen asleep on the beach, yes," she admits. "Not something to be done regularly. There are, after all, venomous animals on this island. It's certainly safer when you have cover or protection from the local wildlife while sleeping. And it might be nice to do the evening, but if we're swimming then the afternoon is better by far. The water will be warmer and you'll be able to see beneath the waves much more clearly."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

His words we warm and mellow, as they had been the whole conversation, but a hint of roguishness was starting to creep into his voice. "Well I leave it to your judgement, if we go later in the day we could watch the sunset and see if we want to stay a bit longer."

[Miya Akari]

She nods at that. "not a bad option. But then, we may also be called on to perform duties tomorrow. So we should plan for too much time."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"You said this was a place for new beginnings. Before today if I tried to make plans this elaborate for my free time I would have been assigned to a three day patrol. But since arriving here I have known nothing but good fortune, I have a feeling everything is going to work out fine in the end, don't you?"

[Miya Akari]

"I don't have the feeling, but I have the hope, and the determination to make it so," she says with a smile. "Why rely on fate or circumstance, when we can command our own futures? We have to let the world know what we want if we are to get it."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well hopefully we can all get what we want here." he raised his cup in toast. "To making dreams reality."

[Miya Akari]

She returned it. "Let them be real."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

After he drank he asked. "So you have a lot of letters to deliver, are you the one that goes to the mainland for that regularly?"
