[D1, LE] What a day, what a place (Open)

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Again thank you, as I said it isn't very pleasant and I I thank you for not leaving in disgust." Though his smile didn't fade there was sadness in eyes in the moment. "SO, is there anything out in the woods I should keep my eye out for that will aid your art? Flowers for an arrangement or perhaps something that can be turned into paint?"

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh! Well, ah... let's see, some paints are made from earth pigments, so any unusual soil color might be of note. Any plants you recognize from the mainland could be brought by for a looking-over, and... hm. I wouldn't ask you to run any undue risk, but flowering plants are... I was thinking we could have a garden her in the village, and knowing what local blooms are available would be a big help..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I don't expect that I will need to carry my usual tools here so grabbing a few plants and some dirt shouldn't be a problem and I already take an axe and shovel with me."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Could you maybe sketch anything too big to carry?"

She'd heard that scouts did that sort of thing...

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I can certainly try, my brushwork isn't the best but between my chicken scratching and describing it to you I should be able to get the idea across. Maybe drawing is something you could help teach me."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I think that could be arranged... it's not a particular specialty of mine, but it's a useful study."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I am no expert swimmer but I think that in aiding each other we may strengthen ourselves as well."

[Shiba Yukari]

"As you say, Kenzo-san."

She rest her chin on one of her hands.

"I get the feeling that we're all going to be spending a great deal of time around each other- might as well try to help each other out."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo beamed at this. "I agree and I hope this endeavor can help strengthen the bonds between our clans even further through our actions. There is no stronger or longer lasting alliance within the empire and I think you and I can bring that relationship one step closer." He took one of his puppets out of his sleeve and regarded it. "Perhaps I will make puppets of some of the people here, then I can tell the tale of our adventure when we return home."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I think that'd be a very... accessible way to tell the story. And people need that. Wrap a lesson in entertainment and more people will take the time to learn it."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"So what is your favorite story? What do you think would make a good show for children to learn from?"

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, children are... both easy and hard? They're more perceptive in some ways, but not in ways that reward planned subtlety. But as for a favorite story... I love the story of Shiba-Kami's journey to rescue the last of the Thunders."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo laughed so loud it startled the bar staff. "Oh I think we are going to get along just fine." he wiped a joyful tear away and continued. "The story of Shiba-kami's final act is without a doubt my favorite to do. It has everything you need to engross a group of children while also being an incredibly important moment in our history." he leaned back still full of amusement. "Oh how I wish I had the puppets with me right now to show you, it must sound like I am just trying to get on your good side but I swear it's true."

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari, who now, thanks to some OOC time contortions, had probably at least made out on the beach, smiled.

This island was proving to be... pleasant.

"Well. There's always tomorrow?"

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I would love to do that. I mean, my performance is for children so I hope you will forgive me glossing over some details that may not be fit for young ears, it is not out of any disrespect to Shiba-kami or any others just for the sake of the young and it's about 15 minutes long. Did you have a time in mind?"

[Shiba Yukari]

She smiled.

"I find that my social calendar is remarkably open on this island for some reason, Kenzo-san. I imagine you have more duties to see to than I, at least right now."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I spoke with my kinsman Daidoji Kasai this morning and he believes they are going to give us a day or two to settle in before anything like an expedition happens so we have some time. Though I must admit that the idea of you having an open social calendar is a bit surprising, people must be staring at the ground or something. Unless your married and word has gotten out."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, no, not married, but... people are, well. Busy. And more informal than I'm used to, so there's less... planning."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Well good fortune to me, once people start paying attention I imagine your free time will be in much higher demand. I'm glad that I got to meet you so early before I become just another tree among the woods." His warm smile held a bit of regret for something left unsaid.

[Shiba Yukari]

"I somehow doubt that's to be your fate. Small island, after all."

Whatever he was holding back, Yukari wasn't going to press.
