[D4, MA] Batten down (Open)

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo was putzing, he had come to the docks to see if he could do anything to help secure things before the storm but to his eyes the heimin had things well in hand already so all he could do was wander and try to stay out of the way. He leaned against a barrel and pulled a rice ball from his kimono.

[Miya Akari]

Akari similarly decided to come out and help out with securing supplies. She waved to Kenzo as she arrived.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

His boredom faded the moment he caught sight of the Miya and approached her, offering a proper bow but was unable to keep a smirk off his face. "Good afternoon Akari-sama, wonderful weather we're having today don't you think?"

[Miya Akari]

She returned the smirk with a pleasant smile. "A bit windy for my tastes, but the oncoming rain isn't so bad. I don't mind getting soaked once in a while."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

He shuddered slightly, not from the cold but a pleasant memory.

"Did you sleep well last night? I can't remember the last time I slept that well, I find the sound of a passing storm quite soothing."

[Miya Akari]

"I always sleep well. Part of my training was to become familiar with sleeping lightly. The training day didn't end in the dojo," she said with a nod.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"It would seem there is nothing you aren't trained for, you swing an axe well. That was an awkward duty today, cutting down trees in front of two people who are opposed to the idea was difficult for me. I felt town between duty and know knowing we need the lumber, and not wanting to upset Yukari and Hana."

[Miya Akari]

Akari looked at him with an expression of understanding. "It's just how things need to go sometimes. I don't pick the problems, I just deal with them."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"True, I just hate to disappoint people especially when I am close to them. Plus Hana-san's gift makes her very sensitive to such things. If I can manage to avoid disappointing the three of you I will be very satisfied with myself."

He took a breath and pushed the thought aside.

"Have I done anything to disappoint you yet Akari-sama or do you fell satisfied?" He asked, the smirk returning to his smile.

[Miya Akari]

"Not yet, but if you keep worrying about it then you'll end up doing so," she said with a chuckle. "Worry causes stress, and life is better without that."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo waited until the bustle of heimin working around them lessened before speaking softly.

"I do not have the words to describe how amazing that was, that you are. I hope we get a chance to revisit it at some point and perhaps a private lesson some time so I can give you my full attention."

As another pair of heimin passed them he stopped.

[Miya Akari]

"You will get the opportunity," she replied, with a smile before beginning to help move things to storage.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

With a bounce in his step Kenzo went over to a barrel and stooped to pick it up, ready to follow the Miya to the storage area. "The storm does look bad though, I hope the worst will pass tonight otherwise we could all be confined to our rooms tomorrow. I wonder what the salamanders do in weather like this."

[Miya Akari]

"Probably find some rock to take shelter near. Maybe move inland a bit?" she guesses moving a sack filled with something heavy. "And being confined to the rooms would be unfortunate, but it is what it is."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

He stopped for a moment and looked up at the sky. "I feel like this is going to get bad." He sighed and got back to work. "Which is a real shame for me, while others are bundled up all cozy finding ways to keep themselves and others warm I'm going to be following a bunch of salamanders around making sure no one uses the storm as cover to hunt them and trying to make sure Komyo-san doesn't have a tree branch fall on her."

[Miya Akari]

"I can join you for salamander watch," she replied. "I've been looking into it."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

For once in his life Kenzo managed to stop himself before he said something lewd or crass.

"Do you really want to be out here getting drenched by the rain all night? I won't turn down the company but I also don't want you to get sick or miss out on anything more enjoyable. Though honestly you would be doing me a big favor if you managed to drag Komyo-san in out of the weather. I offered her my room and everything but she doesn't trust me or anyone it seems just yet."

[Miya Akari]

"I can speak with her, but you have to introduce us," she replied. "And I don't mind a storm."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Hmm, yes well that could be awkward. She isn't particularly happy with me right now. Me introducing you might not go over well. But she isn't stupid, I'm sure she will find good shelter. I told her that I would respect her decision right up until lightning starts striking the forest, then I will go looking of her."

He bent over to lift another craft and nearly threw his back out from the weight. "OOF, okay no , that one is just full of stones or something." He set it back down and instead hefted a could of sacks.

"As for this evening...I cannot promise it will be comfortable but again I welcome the company. I know you don't mind losing sleep and getting wet but there are more comfortable ways to accomplish that, ways I expected you to have already arranged. I plan on going out during the hour of the Rat so it will be a late night."

[Miya Akari]

"I have nothing arranged tonight. I'm just dealing with tasks related to the storm as they arise," she admitted. "Taking care of the people here is more important than comfort."
