[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji wasn't as graceful attacking as she was defending. The Crane girl nodded. "Yes people might want to do that. I even think they might even want to make a brewery."

[Miya Akari]

"That would probably be nice, but I suspect that a brewery might be low on the priority list. We'd need a consistent source of rice or plums or something else to make alcohol before it would even be useful," she said, continuing the defensive side of the drill.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"If Yukari san garden is fruitful that wouldn't be a problem. I think with her help we can have a very nice garden." The Doji nodded as she continued her not so aggressive attacks

[Miya Akari]

"That would be nice, but even still, I suspect a garden might not quite produce enough, especially if most of the produce is consumed by the people here to supplement the food brought in from the mainland. I think breweries are generally supplied by small farms or orchards? Maybe just a small room or dug out cellar would suffice," Akari thought out loud.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Well a small garden can be just the start of a farm. One can make a farm. so perhaps our experiment would bring bigger things." Then she realized something and stopped talking and fighting. "I see..." The Doji blinked.

[Miya Akari]

"Are you okay?" Akari asks, pausing as well. "Something wrong?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"No... I just forgot that we will need space and that means losing some of the forest. It will not make the spirits of the forest happy." She mused. "I am... fine... just... give me a break. As I told you I am a bit rusty and I may need a small breath." She motioned the Miya to seat as Hana sat on the sand.

[Miya Akari]

She nodded and took a seat. But at a friendly conversational distance. "Is there something we should do to appease the spirits of the forest? Ask permission somehow?" she asked. "Perhaps Yukari-san might know a ritual or offering we might give in preparation?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Well, I think I will go to the forest tomorrow and pray." The Doji nodded. "I also think that not wasting the sacrifice the spirits will be making in lieu to aid us should also be considered. I don't want to provoke their wrath."

[Miya Akari]

"Seems a reasonable stance to me. I'm not one for upsetting spirits if it can be avoided. I suspect that means developing a plan to do something with the trees removed, building structures and such?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Correct Miya sama. I know there will be some things that don't have a useful purpose so I have to think about what can we do with it." She wondered. "Do you think Kaiu sama would be okay with that?"

[Miya Akari]

"I think she wouldn't really mind if you wanted to make use of things dug up there, so long as her work wasn't being delayed. She's very work oriented," Akari replied. "What kinds of less useful things could end up being collected? Small stones, grass, dead branches and leaves and that sort of thing? Some of that could be compost for a garden right?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Yes, there might be bones and other things that we may uncover when we move the land. Yes composting for those things to make the land more fertile."

[Miya Akari]

"Hmm... bones would be an odd discovery wouldn't they? Wouldn't most animals be eaten or washed out to sea during storms? Though, yes, if they're found care should be taken," she agrees.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Why would you think they wouldn't be remains of dead creatures in the area we are to clean for the development of the city?" Hana was pensive "Why would they be washed away into the sea?"

[Miya Akari]

"I would think that most bodies would be eaten by other wildlife, like scavenger birds and other small animals. Or that heavy storm winds and rain would push animal bodies down the island at this distance from the water," she said with a shrug.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Many predator tend to burry their prey so I figured that some bones may be found since we barely know what lies behind the curtain that is the forest. She explained.

[Miya Akari]

"That is true. I wasn't thinking about predators, though there are likely plenty on the island. But they haven't been observed since arriving so they likely retreated from the coast when people started showing up," Akari said with a nod. "We likely scared them out of their territory. And the deer are beginning to wander out this way because of the lack of predators."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Probably, they are the cause of the missing people when entering the forest. Big cats and dogs tend to be stealthy when hunting." She frowned. "They must starting to get a bit more ravenous. I wonder when there will be an expedition to exploring deeper into the forest."

[Miya Akari]

"I'll be talking to Hiraku-sama later today, so I can possibly find out. But I expect it will be soon."
