[Koumori]

"They might not, especially if we have a drawlot play. Those are pretty lacking in skill. So much so even the Crab and Mantis can pull them off with people enjoying them all around. Not to mention it's great seeing a big, burly Hida with a tangled wig trying to play the part of a fair maiden!" He slapped his knee like it was the funniest thing. "And of course I enjoy acting. I'd be a terrible stereotype of a Shosuro if I didn't."

[Miya Akari]

"Stereotypes are no fun," the Miya replied with a smirk. "Not that I would hope you don't act, but the fun things about people tend to be the things outside the stereotypes. It's the little bit of ginger you accidentally get in the soy sauce."

[Koumori]

"Ah, well, I am afraid I am but a bundle of stereotypes compiled somewhat neatly under a cute mask, which way or may not hide a cute face, but no one will ever get to see that." He chirped pleasantly. "Ginger in soy sauce though... oddly terrible thing."

[Miya Akari]

"Yeah, they don't go together all that well when mixed, despite it being popular to serve both at many meals. A strange thing to consider. And you plan on keeping your cute face a secret forever then? Because I always figured it would be more handsome than cute."

She casts her line into the sea.

"But as I've never seen I guess I can't really know."

[Koumori]

"And you won't ever be able to known." He said with a slight shrug. "I'm very protective of this old mug, you know. Ah, but the mixing thing, yes. You know, I actually saw someone who did that once? No clue why she thought it was a good idea. It might've been a dare, but she did it and ate all of it with her meal."

[Miya Akari]

"I think I'd end up sick to my stomach," she said, imagining how much she would hate that. "A whole pile of ginger, soaked in soy sauce. Ugh."

Akari let the line settle once more, finger on the line and waiting.

[Koumori]

"A delicacy only a mother could love. Maybe even not a mother." He snickered again, still finding his jokes to be the best. "But, you know there has to be at least one person in Rokugan that likes that."

[Miya Akari]

"Probably more, I suspect. Good taste is not universal after all," she replied with a smirk. "And most definitely rarely agreed on by concerned parties. But as long as it doesn't become a fad where it's served at every court, I think I'll be fine."

[Koumori]

"Oh dear, but what if it did? It won't, but it wouldn't surprise me if in some court it did happen and everyone claimed that they had superior tastes and this was now the rage."

[Miya Akari]

"That would be horrifying. I'd definitely be glad I am here, and would want to stay until the fad moved on. The court of culinary nightmares..." She smiled at the playful thought, though she shivered at it as well. She continued holding the line.

"By the way, how long has the line been out there? Might need to check to see if a sneaky fish stole your bait."

[Koumori]

"It probably did, but I'm lazy and don't feel like moving it. Sometimes it's just nice to sit and look like I'm busy. Keeps the bosses away, you know?" Under his mask, he was probably smirking.

"But what if the fad started here? Would be terrible, no? Stuck here with nasty toppings for food."

[Miya Akari]

Akari nods in understanding at not having the motivation to move the line. She wasn't feeling it now, but she certainly felt that way on occasion.

"You're going to give me ginger soy nightmares. Please don't." She cracks a smile at that. "I prefer the pleasant dreams I have now."

[Koumori]

"Pleasant dreams, here? Surprising. I think most people are tormented by the thoughts of bugs." He then leaned over, chuckling. "I've heard that some of the guards have taken to sleeping with their ears covered because they fear a centipede crawling inside."

[Miya Akari]

"Bugs are fine. I don't mind them so much. Long as I hang around a nice smokey fire, they tend to not be too bothersome. It's the lack of proper amenities that bugs me the most, but even that I am okay with."

[Koumori]

"This is kind of like one of those 'build a village' type deals, but at least we're better than most. We can offer advice on building placement or even what's going to be built. Usually can't do that anywhere else because it's already built."

[Miya Akari]

"That is true. We get to make all the mistakes everyone else has already made for a thousand years before us. At least I would, because I'm certainly no engineer or city planner. Just give me a nice place by the beach and I'll be happy as a clam... on a beach?" she said with a curious smirk.

[Koumori]

"Clam on a beach before or after it gets harvested for food? I'd consider before good, but you might not." He shrugged and pulled in his line. She was right and there was no bait left on it, so he started adding some.

"Mistakes though... any you're planning on doing? Since remaking them and all."

[Miya Akari]

Akari had a thoughtful look as she considered the qquestion. "Personally? None in particular. I'm sure that it will happen without trying. I'm just naturally talented like that and don't even have to try when making my mistakes. It's a gift from the fortunes I imagine." She pulls her own line in after a bit. Her bait was still there, so she recast, a little bit away from the last spot.

[Koumori]

"I don't think most people have to try to make a mistake to be fair." He giggled while he spoke. "Imagine someone who had to try to mess up. What a loon! Couldn't be anyone on this island." Once he had added more bait to his hook, he cast out again.

[Miya Akari]

"Would be nice to have that person's problems I'm guessing. But then almost everyone looks like their problems aren't so bad until you have the same ones. Grass is greener and all that. I suppose here it would be 'sand is cleaner' though."

She smirked at that while putting tension on the line.
