(D2, MM, Gathering) A Basket in Hand

Surprisingly, Miya Hiruka was standing near the edge of the forest with several baskets surrounding her. Hers was already partially filled with a wide assortment. She was handing off a few to some guards who had arrived a bit earlier and warning them to not overgather.

Gathering thread here. There will be no rolling, so gather what you feel your character could, but don't go overboard with it.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko picked one of the baskets and started gathering the fruits that may be edible. This was a strange place and she had to get used to the weather and the flora that grew in this part. She knew to up to where she could go and not provoke a reaction. It is weird that a samurai would be doing such manual labor but it was part of the growth.

She looked up at a palm tree and shook her head.

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari- doing her best proper On in light of the rumors she'd awoken to and the secure knowledge that it couldn't be much of a mystery who they were about, collected a basket and fell in step with the Doji.

"Doji-san, shall we pool our efforts?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Ah... Shiba san... I didn't see you there." She nodded. "Sure we can put our baskets together."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Besides, with luck, we can find a good variety to help liven things up- and make sure we only take things the forest can spare us."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji nodded. "I think I saw a leaf that resembled some kind of tuber. Maybe we can find some sort of wasabi."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, that'd be lovely... and while we're working low, we can look for mushrooms, too..."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Of course..." She closed her eyes listening around. "I think I know where to find some mushrooms." The Doji belongs the Shiba to follow her. They didn't go too far in just an edge to the line she didn't want to cross. They can barely see the coast but it is still in sight. They found a trunk with mushrooms growing out of it. "I hope they are good."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Let's see... these look like Oyster Mushrooms..."

Yukari's eyes narrowed as she examined them.

"... I'll want to be certain before anyone eats any, but no harm in gathering a few, just to be sure."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"I don't know well but they look like it." She nodded. "The wasabi is closer to the beach if I remember correctly."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Then let's head that way... it'll make our minders less nervous anyhow!"

She knew that there was supposed to be strength in numbers. On the other hand, the idea of Hanatsuko and herself doing much of anything in a fight if something were to happen was almost laughable...

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Hana would probably surprise the Shiba with her knowledge of defensive tactics. She didn't want to test those and with what had happened the evening before she was wary of lined. "Ah yes we should get back."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Besides, I saw something that looked a bit like daikon, and we should probably check it out..."

Well, well away from anything the hunters might flush toward them.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

She nodded and smiled. The Doji was enjoying herself this gathering. "This is quite exciting."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I know! Especially... look at those! I've never seen anything like them..."

The Shiba bit her lip.

They were there for food, not flowers.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"It is quite pretty..." She wanted to hear their melody but desisted. "We will back later..." She nodded to the Shiba. "Yes Shibs san.

[Shiba Yukari]

"Right, so, this daikon lookalike..."

She cocked her head at the Doji.

"Is the forest... upset today, or are we doing better?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"I am fine Shiba san. The forest is enjoying the light of the sun." She closed her eyes. "I sometimes wish I had studied music so I could show the world the melody I hear."

[Shiba Yukari]

"I could teach you a little, if you like?"

Yukari stooped to examine a sprout of some kind.

"Tejina are performers, and that includes a basic grounding in music, at least for me..."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"You would do that, for me?" The Doji was surprised. She shook her head, she would probably mess up something and lose whatever she had. "I don't want to impose Shiba san. Shiba san must be very busy to teach this one such things."
