[D2 LM] Ceremonial Supplies

[Miya Akari]

Coming in on the heels of those leaving after the gathering session, Akari walked close to the edge of the forest, always careful to keep an eye on the ocean. She hunted for herbs, stones, flowers and wood that might be useful in crafting incense and giving offerings.

She had keen eyes for this type of thing, and basic knowledge of useful plants, so she was not out of her element completely.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

She would note that sitting under a tree there is a Doji with her eyes closed but bobbing her head to a rhythm as if she was listening to some music that wasn't heard. Hanatsuko wasn't asleep yet she hasn't noticed who was around. The woman seemed to be enjoying the music she can only hear.

[Miya Akari]

Akari does not immediately interrupt, instead, poking around on the ground and locating some small stones that were smooth. She brushed dirt away from them and put them in a basket. There was noise as she worked, as she was not attempting to sneak, but didn't wish to be a bother either.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko opened her eyes as the melody in her head switched. The woman slowly opened her eyes and saw who was around. Ah... that is why it changed. "Good morning Miya sama." She stood up and cleaned some of the dirt off her hakama giving the imperial a proper bow. "I hope you have had a pleasant day so far."

[Miya Akari]

"It's a pleasure to see you again, Doji-san," Akari said, returning the bow. "My day has been very nice. I am well rested and refreshed after a lovely evening."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Those were interesting news this morning. Does it happen often?" The girl slowly approached the Miya. "The supply lines be cut."

[Miya Akari]

"From time to time. It was not unexpected, but the animals getting into the supplies was a surprise. Were you out here with Hiruka-sama?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Yes... I was gathering some of the local plants and fruits." She nodded. "I just sat there to rest and admire the nature." The camp is so quiet... I like it here. "What brings you to this place?"

[Miya Akari]

"I am collecting supplies and offerings for a ceremony that Asako Qi-san is planning. One of thanks and appeasement for the salamanders in the cove. Need to find some pretty stones, flowers, and some herbs and wood that can be used for making incense."

"You were bobbing your head in time to a song it looked like. Are you a composer too?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"It is a quirk... sama" Should I?... no... She shook her head then up the tree she was listening too. "Would you like some help in collecting such items?... I think I saw some wild chamomile."

[Miya Akari]

"A quirk?" She was curious about what led to that particular quirky behavior, but let it go.

"It would be appreciated. Shall we?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Ah... yes... we shall." She guides the Miya to a patch where wild chamomile was growing. "I should take some for harvesting the seeds. Shiba san probably would like to have some."

[Miya Akari]

"Actually, I told Yukari-san I would collect some live flowers for her to care for in her room. I brought a few pieces of burlap and a trowel to do so."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Yes..." She gave a short prayer as she started to pick some of the flowers in a very particular and selective way. Perhaps it was her knowledge of the flowers and plant or something else. The Doji smiled as she picked the flowers. Their melody was interesting and Hanatsuko started to think that perhaps she should think about becoming a composer or at least translate those sounds she hears into something more palatable to those around her.

[Miya Akari]

Setting the basket she carried down so that the flowers could be placed in, she went about digging up one of the chamomile plants so it could be placed on the burlap, roots and all. She wrapped the burlap around the soil and tied it off gently with some twine being careful not to hurt the plant. Too careful. She is clearly not used to doing this, but had seen it done.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Wait..." The Doji looked at the one the Miya had dug up. Hana closed her eyes as if meditating for a few breaths. "Nothing... I'll point to the ones that are more suitable for transplant and transport."

[Miya Akari]

"Ah..." That was strange. Was the Doji angry at her?

"Of course. You definitely know better about such things Doji-san. Would you like one as well for your room?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Yes..." The Doji said softly. She wasn't angry nor intended to be, it was the song that the flower had given her. "I would like that one..." She pointed to one that seemed a bit under the weather, weak and pale. I will make you sing.. The Doji seemed determined. "I want to make her look radiant."

[Miya Akari]

The Miya nods and carefully moves the plant from it's home onto some burlap and ties it up gently. She then places both chamomile plants in the basket. Pulling out a bottle of water she brought with from the inn, she puts a bit on the burlap of both so that it can soak in, but not a lot.

"I am sure that she will appreciate it," Akari said, in support. She didn't know why the plant was being personified as a girl, but if that is how the Doji saw her plants, it was fine with the Imperial.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji giggled lightly and pointed to another flower. "That one will be good for replanting." You will make a lot of the ladies jealous with your song. She nodded as she pick one that seemed to be good for tea. "This one is not good for replanting but might make good tea."
