I've got close to 200 kids. I'd say 75 to 85 of them have some accommodation or another.

Some are health things, not really affecting instruction. Some, though...

And some are pretty likely performative rather than authentic. But though I've got my suspicions, I'm not really qualified to say.

Having had a 504 I can appreciate the student end of that spectrum. I hardly ever had to use it but just having it took a huge load off of my shoulders. Now I am in college studying my passion of history and next semester I will be taking my first education class. There I will have the opportunity to do a little bit of student teaching. I haven't decided if I want to be a teacher yet or not so I figure that this will at least show me if it's not for me.

I'm happy to provide accommodations, of course, although I'm less pleased at the (admittedly few) students and parents who work to weaponize the damned things. Most of the time, I try to proactively provide them, baking many of them into the standard assignments. (Some, of course, I can't, but that's not so frequent a thing as might be thought.)

In related news, the formal complaint seems to have been resolved. And I'm not in trouble!

A couple of things-

1- Given that we had a Late Evening thread, it would have been weird retroactively introducing other developments earlier in the day.
2- Sometimes I'd look for open thread,s only to find that they were in timeslots already in use!
