I am also new, and looking for advice on the best time and place to 'arrive'. Is there a daily arrival of kobune? Did the koutetsukan arrive a bit later?

Welcome! Right now boats are delayed for two weeks but it is only day 3 so it's certainly feasible that you were on the boat with the rest of us and have just been sick or something. As for when and where to come in anywhere really. There are a couple of threads in the Popup Threads thread or start your own and at least one of us will jump in.

Mostly getting our bearings still. It has been hot the first two days but a storm is on the horizon. We are currently trying to decide on matters around building a shrine.

Day 3 (MM): Event: Build-A-Shrine

other then that we are free to do whatever we want. Keep in mind that 1 day in game is 1 week in real life so there isn't much you have missed and there is plenty of time to get into things today.

If I can find the time I will maybe make a What Has Happened catchup thread for people entering/returning to the game.

The one and only time I had a character pray to Suitengu it resulted in the parties boat sinking and us washing up on a deserted gaijin island and my character was later swallowed by a sea monster. That was a prayer made with a successful roll with raises. My old GM was a dick.

Holy crap man, I know Suitengu is kind of merciless but that's just such a dick move by the GM

The monster swallowed me whole and I was still able to fight inside it but he ruled that it got it's full armored TN even in it's stomach.

Ok now that's just not allright. I hope you don't blame Suitengu for that. It's clearly a messed up GM who screwed you.

Although, you did say there was a storm coming right? Clearly this is an omen from the Heavens! We obviously must dedicate this shrine to Osano-Wo!

Yukari favors either honoring the spirts of the island itself (but that's tricky, since we don't know who they are) or Suitengu and Isora as a double act, being as we're a community on a shoreline....
