"Well if I am bothering you please tell me but my want to communicate with you better is genuine. You should only do what you feel you are comfortable with." He said with a hint of trepidation, wondering if he was being annoying. "I would like to be your friend not an annoyance."

Since she was halfway done with his bandage, she continued that and shrugged. After another moment or two, she furrowed her brows and shook her head at him with a gentle expression on her face, and when she was finished, she picked her book back up and wrote.

"Why?"

"Why what? Why do I want to be your friend? I mean, why wouldn't I want to be your friend, you've given me no reason not to like you and unlike many I hold no ill feelings toward your station."

He placed his hands on hers so she would stop working and look him in the eye.

"Like I've said before this is a place of new beginnings, to me that means you're a equal as the rest of us and just as important as the rest of us."

He released her hands.

"You deserve as much comfort as the rest of us, as much food as the rest of us and as much bad sake as the rest of us. I don't consider many as acquaintances and those are usually my superiors or people I only meet once so that leaves us with friends or enemies. I already have enough potential enemies on this island with all the Lion running about so unless you tell me otherwise I would like to consider you a friend... or at least a friend in the making of that makes you more comfortable."

Even though she wasn't able to continue her work, she still didn't look him in the eye. That's just not what you did in polite Rokugani society. Yet, neither did one touch another in polite society, at least if you weren't a medic working on someone. It was clear she was uncomfortable and her cheeks had turned a vicious red that stayed there even as he released her. It caught the attention of one of the other medics, who glared at the two for a moment before also being a good samurai and ignoring what had just happened.

"Stay off your knee as much as you can over the following days. Unwrap your knee before you go to bed and apply more salve to it. I will have to think on the friendship, sorry, Daidoji-sama. I am not very trusting. Not to say that you aren't trustworthy. All samurai are honorable and trustworthy. I'm just tentative. Sorry. After giving him just barely enough time to read it all, she began to swiftly put up the supplies she had taken out, likely in order to try and get out of there quickly.

Kenzo stood and tested his knee a bit. "My apologies Komyo-san, I understand."

"The storm looks bad and will probably hit tonight, please consider my offer if it gets bad. I can find other accommodation if propriety is a concern but lightning starts hitting I will go out looking for you. I hope the rest of your day is a blessed and again thank you."

He bowed to the little Ronin whether she saw it or not and then left the medical tent.
