(D4, MM, Event) Chopping Away

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Kenzo looked pained.

"We uh...I'm gonna go over there a bit, no need for us to crowd around each other, I don't want to hit someone by mistake."

He wandered a ways away and started working on another tree.



(OOC: Still in the scene)

[Hiruma Heiko]

"Hey, hang on! Has Shiba-san talked to that one yet?"

[Daidoji Kenzo]

As he was on the other side of tree they couldn't see the pained expression on his face. "Right, good point, I will wait."

[Miya Akari]

Akari moved to join the Doji and looked around at the trees. Where do I need to get to work?" she asked, curious. She wasn't gleeful about it, because she knew that the two gardeners likely didn't want to cut down any trees, but she was ready to do the work necessary.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Hana looked at the Miya and blinked a few times. "Oh... Ah... well..." She placed a hand on one of the trees and closed her eyes. "This one might be troublesome... let see who else could be..." She found one that was to her sick. The Doji whispered to the tree "Let's get you out of your sorrow..." Hana looked at the Miya and nodded. "This one Miya sama... it will has lived a long life and is ready to go."

[Miya Akari]

The Imperial nods and begins working. A Miya... cutting wood... and completely comfortable with it. It would take time of course, but she seemed up to the task.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

Knowing that her tree was safe to cut down Kenzo moved over to assist the Miya.

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari, for her part, moved ahead of the chopping crews alongside of Hantasuko, offerings prayers of thanks to the selected trees.

[Miya Akari]

Akari, for her part, didn't take issue with the chopping down of trees. She nods to Kenzo, offering thanks for the assistance.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"Your prayers are heard and... seems to be thankful that..." Hana shook her head. "You know rebirth, right? He will be reborn, yes."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Maybe we could take cuttings of some of them? Plant them around the shrine..."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"A branch perhaps... " Hana nodded. "He was willing to go you know... and well... he will be put to good use." She placed a hand on Yukari's shoulder in comradery. "It pains me as much as it does you but I know... a song might be forgotten but let's hope for a new song to be born."

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari muttered something under her breath about how driftwood would have been better for Isora and Suitengu anyhow, but didn't seem inclined to press the issue further.

[Hiruma Heiko]

After working for a whie, Heiko was beginning to feel heat and humidity and stopped cutting for a bit to take off her jacket and hang it from a nearby tree.

"This isn't really the best weather for hard work, but I understand why it's important to do it now. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm definitely going to need a bath after this. I don't remember seeing a bathhouse in the village. Did I just miss it or is there some sort of other arrangement?"

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Not yet, right now your options are a bucket and rag or the sea but Kyo-sama is aware that we desire one."

He coughed a bit before continuing, choking a bit on his words.

"In truth these will not be the last we must cull from the forest, there are many structures we will need to build before we can stop I'm afraid."

[Ikoma Matisutou]

Matistutou grunts affirmation to the Kuni's words and goes about searching for more of the strange orange fur from before...

He's unable to find any close, but further into the forest there looks to be something of interest around the trees... It would be taking him rather close to the invisible line that dictated the end of the 'Can still see the sea' band.

Matisutou goes that way, following the clues to the extent of his order.

He's a Lion, after all.

[Miya Akari]

"I don't know, I kind of like this weather a bit. Though the winds will make swaying trees a bit harder to cut down," she says with a nod, continuing her axe swinging.

[Doji Hanatsuko]

While they cut the tree something calls to Hana's attention. She started to walk toward what had called her attention a small bunch of chamomile flowers made her giggle. "Thank you." The Doji started to pick them up.

[Hiruma Heiko]

"Huh, guess I'll just have to make do with the sea then."

She continues to work for a bit, then whispers to whoever is nearest, "Is he doing anything in particular?" nodding her head at where the Lion had gone.

[Miya Akari]

"He's a pretty intense and focused guy. I can't really read him. Not sure," Akari replied with a shrug between swings.
