Hanatsuko was in her training gear, the woman had a warfan in her hand. She started to practice her kata. The woman was bare foot in the sand and her movements looked more like a dance rather than a kata for her movements were slow and gentle.

Akari approached with a pleasant smile, bowing once she was near enough. "Good morning Doji-san. I hope you have been blessed by Inari."

She carries a bokken, and begins doing some basic wrist stretches and exercises.

"Good morning Miya sama... I have been blessed." The girl continued her kata.

The Imperial begins her own kata to get warmed up.

"I'm glad to hear it. Did you sleep well last night?"

"I did..." She finished her kata and sat on the sand. "It was interesting to hear the sounds of the island a second night."

"Did it change much for you? I tend to notice most changes in the sounds only when I realize something has gone silent that I am used to hearing," she admits, continuing her own kata for a bit.

"Ah... some changed but not by much. Crickets mostly seem to accompany the sounds of the wind." The woman went pensive. "Have you heard the songs of the crickets and cicadas?"

"I have. It's much clearer when you sleep outside, which I've done occasionally. My room faces the water though, so I hear the waves more, and those are quite constant. Only really change with the weather which changes everything anyway," she replies. It looks like she's coming to the end of her kata.

"Do you know if there are frogs around?"The Doji wondered. "They sound during the rain."

"I am not sure, if there are they'd probably be in the forest. Don't know if they like salt water.". Finishing up the last of her movements, she comes to a stop and offers a bow.

The Doji bows back from her seated position. "I like to hear the frogs of this island perhaps they'll bring us luck."

"I hope that they will bring us luck. The storms here can be dangerous and I want everyone to be safe." She looks at the horizon that has telltale signs.

"Is there some other refuge besides the buildings?" She wondered if the storm hit and the buildings would flood or fly in pieces during the storm.

"No. But they have been strong enough thus far. I think only the bar is in danger of actually collapsing." She prepared herself for some basic drills with Hanatsuko, assuming the Doji was up for it since they were both there for practice.

The Doji stood up, shook off the sand and stretched. "Ah... the bar... can it be considered a bar... I think it is more like a rustic sake house." Hana chuckled lightly. After limbering up the Doji and her fan took a defensive stance. "Let's see how rusty I am."

"We can start with just some basic drills. Just to remind your muscles what they're supposed to do."

Akari was had a pleasant expression as she went about slowly moving through her form for a basic strike, giving Hanatsuko time to perform a standard defensive motion with her war fan.

"Well, it may fall over, but it won't take much to put it back up either."

The Doji nodded and parry the blow with her fan. "I don't know if there should be a permanent fixture for it. Then again many samurai tend to visit places for their sake." She switched back. "Perhaps if the storm doesn't arrive tomorrow we can pick some of the palm tree leaves and keep them in a safe place and make at least a mat with it." She suggested

"I'm not exactly sure what that would do. I'm bad at that sort of thing. Usually when it comes to cleaning up messes like that I just take the orders of someone that knows where I can carry stuff to and from. Far more useful at simple manual labor than disaster planning or clean up."

She continues with the drill, steadily increasing pace, just to allow the two of them to get used to each other's movements.

"As long as the bar isn't inhabited when the storm hits, I'll be happy. Don't want people getting injured."

"The mats are for starting a roof... or to seat. I am not good at weaving but I can give it a try." The Doji kept up with the pace. "I think people would like to take refuge in a more sturdy structure." She grunted at that last strike. "I should go on the offensive now."

The Miya nodded, moving to a defensive stance. Slightly more refined but not as naturally quick. "Ah, yes. I think that the people that are that worried about the sake bar will be putting in a great deal of effort to rebuild it, should it collapse. But we can certainly help out with preparations."
