Yukari hadn't had to do much asking around to find out where the Kaiu's preferred hangout was, and the young Tejina made her way to the forge with something between trepidation and anticipation.

As expected, Kyo was there working away in her forge. She was dressed in light clothing to help combat the heat inside. It looked like she might've been working on some armor piece at the moment. What she didn't do was acknowledge that anyone had entered. She might've not heard.

Do I.... wait?

Yukari looked around.

I might be here until the next three Emperors came and went.

"Excuse this one, Kaiu-sama?"

She paused in her work and looked over towards the Shiba. After a moment, she grunted and gave a sideways bow before going back to work.

"Anything I can help you with?"

"Oh, I certainly hope so, Kaiu-sama. This one is Shiba Yukari, of the Tejina."

Another bow.

"I know that..." She actually chuckled. "My apologies, but the words I was about to say... were a masterpiece of understatement. So. Busy as you no doubt are, I will get to the point. I was wondering, Kaiu-sama, if you could find a couple of carpenteres to do the basic work on a small shrine. I would be handling the embellishments- I would simply need the basic structure. And it could be quite small, to start with- perhaps using cut ends of timbers used for larger buildings. But as seeing to this is one of the only two duties I have been clearly tasked with, I have to ask."

Aaaaaaaand another bow.

As the Tenjina spoke, she continued working while the metal was hot, but had her head tilted in such a way to continue hearing her. When her request was said and she was finished, Kyo set the metal into a bucket of liquid and wiped the sweat from her brow.

"Yeah. We can do something like that. It's been needed to get done anyway. Spirits'll know if we used the discarded pieces though and I've seen more than a few, at least in the Crab lands, get pissy at being afforded only scraps. Given this forests overabundance of them and unknown temperament, it's better to be on the safe side. I'll get on it in the next few days. Maybe day after next or day after that one. Any specific wood or design you're looking for?"

"Local wood, carefully thanked for being used, Kaiu-sama- design-wise, I would suggest room for additions. I had intended to honor the local spirits, plus Suitengu and Isora- Sea and Shore- but as we learn more, we should be able to make adjustments in case some particular Fortune or even Kami has an interest in the area."

"Sounds like you want a pretty big shrine then." She huffed, already thinking of potential designs in mind. "The wood will need to be collected, as we've done our best to make sure that we use as little of it as possible. That'll have to be a task for another day then. Something I might get the rest of the samurai to pitch into, seeing as my team isn't that large."

"I trust in your expertise, Kaiu-sama... as I'm certain everyone tells you, and you're sick of hearing. I'll go with the work crews to help pick out trees."

Having not yet met the Crane who can feel the emotions of plants, she couldn't suggest that particular bit of brilliance.

"You don't need to, but you might need to help them cut them down if you're able of such work. If not, there will be others. Plenty of bushi around with too much strength to do anything with properly." She grunted.

"While this one has.... little strength to offer at all. Except perhaps guidance..."

She arched a brow. "Guidance?" Then she snorted and shook her head. "Don't worry about it then."

Yukari simply bowed.

If her feelings were hurt by the curt dismissal, she gave no sign.

"Then this one will leave you to it, Kaiu-sama."

She bowed back. "Pleasant day, Shiba-san. We'll start work on the shrine within the next few days."

Yukari bowed again and made her [/exit]
