[D1 EE] Delivery For My Favorite Crab

[Miya Akari]

The returning Miya entered the forge, looking for the Kyo. "Kaiu-san. Got something for you."

It was a light wooden box that was wrapped in paper, probably some sort of gift from someone she knows back home.

[Koumori]

The Kaiu was there with a drink in hand as Yoshi labored away at the forge. It appeared that the familiar-faced man was crafting some sort of spike for the moment.

"Eh? Wasn't expecting a package just yet." She stuck her hand out. "Who's it from?"

[Miya Akari]

"Yasuki Kaitoro," she says with a shrug, moving to hand it to her. "Well, that's who gave it to me. He just said it was from your family without saying specifically who from. Either he forgot or he was being dodgy."

"Hope things have been well while I was away?"

She also gives a nod to Yoshi but doesn't interrupt him.

[Koumori]

When told who it was from, she nodded, smiled, and then slipped the package away in a corner for the moment. "Likely just forgot. He often does that. Something about a hit on the head when he was a boy." She waved a hand and made a warding sign. "Everything has been well so far. The new construction is coming along and I should have some more permanent, sturdy housing soon. My wish is that one of these damned things will become a bar. One fierce fart from a Hida will knock that damned thing over as it stands now."

[Miya Akari]

Akari chuckles at that description. She had learned that being too proper or stiff around Kyo just wasn't conducive to enjoying her company. "I'll defer to your expertise on both buildings and Hida," she replied.

"And if you like, you can just turn someone's house into a bar and tell them you forgot to build their place..." the Miya suggests with a grin.

[Koumori]

"The housing isn't for anyone as it stands. Just more buildings that will become what we need, though that Asako has it in her head that she's getting a whole house to herself, which is dead wrong." The woman rolled her eyes before taking a sip from her cup. "Either way, Yoshi's brother is adamant that the bar stays as it is. Claims it gives the ugly thing a 'feeling'. The feeling is that it's spare parts for any strong wind and given where we are, when the typhoon winds pick up, it'll be in bad shape."

[Miya Akari]

"Bad shape? It won't be in any shape with typhoon winds I would think. Maybe he should just decorate a new building with the thatch walls and count his blessings he gets a new building," the Miya replies with a smirk.

[Koumori]

"Pffh, as if I'd waste my time making one of my buildings look ridiculous." She scoffed, clearly like most Kaiu and had a rather high regard for her work. "Either way, doubt that will do much. Stubborn old fool, but it runs in the family. Isn't that right, Yoshi-san?" She looked over at her attendant, who just playfully rolled his eyes before returning his focus to his work.

"So, do anything fun for your few days on the mainland before coming back to this pile of junk?"

[Miya Akari]

"I had the pleasure of enjoying a geisha house each night," she confesses with a smile. "Music and drink, good conversation, it was very nice."

She then leans in and whispers. "Brought back some Friendly Traveler sake. Not the bland stuff that gets bulk ordered for here. It will probably disappear quickly though, so if you want to help make it disappear you can join me in my room later tonight or tomorrow night."

[Koumori]

"Oh... that would be nice here. Geisha house, but no good geisha would be willing to come out here. Too expensive, too." She shook her head sadly. "Lucky lady you are though, getting to enjoy their conversation before coming back."

Her whispered words caused her to pause though. Good sake was difficult to find here. "My, my Miya-san... Trying to lure me into your room for an evening and using alcohol to do it?"She arched her brows some. "Or perhaps luring me away for an entire night?"

[Miya Akari]

"As much or as little as you like Kaiu-san," she replied, smirking playfully. "All those evenings with pleasant company, I have been lacking for attention on the trip back."

"I'll try not to fall asleep on the beach later, and be back at the inn. Just stop on by if you find yourself wanting a drink in a building that won't blow over with a stiff wind."

[Koumori]

"I'm not sure if I should be impressed with your display and guts or insulted." She chuckled. "I think I'll go with impressed, especially since you don't know if I'm loyal to my wife or not. So, I suppose you'll find out this evening or tomorrow evening."

"I will, if I find myself wanting of that drink. The swill they've got at that shit bar isn't doing it for me. Too diluted for my tastes."

[Miya Akari]

"Exactly why I picked some good stuff up. Takes too many cups to get a decent buzz on that stuff," she replied with an understanding nod. "I've got a trunk half filled with tea as well. Plenty of that to share. Strong and dark to light and delicate."

[Koumori]

"Isn't that the truth..." She leaned back, smirking. "I've got tea of my own, but I'm curious as to what flavors you've got and if you're planning on making yourself the empress of the tea underworld around here if you've got a trunk of the stuff."

[Miya Akari]

"I probably could if I had the mind for it. But, likely not. Just something to share with friends and enjoy more than the common stuff provided with meals," Akari admits.

"Better to just enjoy it as far as I am concerned, rather than create a market and extra work for myself." She chuckled at that.

"Besides, where would I spend all that koku if I cornered the tea trade? The bar on sake that isn't much stronger than the tea?"

[Koumori]

"Could use that koku to smuggle better stuff in and then sell what you get." She said casually as if she somehow knew the inner workings of the Yasuki and Tortoise, who should really have been called Turtle. "Keep getting more and more money that way, and then found your own geisha house. You'll have the top position on a market that many would enjoy here."

[Miya Akari]

"Not a bad plan, but as I said, I don't really have the mind for it. Seems you might though? Maybe we could go into business together?" she chuckles.

[Koumori]

Kyo waved a hand dismissively. "Certainly not. I've got enough work trying to construct an entire village, let alone trying to begin a criminal underworld. I'll leave it to the Scorpion or the Tortoise if they show up."

[Miya Akari]

A grin. "So, what is the spike for?" She asks, curious about the piece being worked on.

[Koumori]

Yoshi looked up from his work and at the samurai. "It is for a gift. Being turned into a hairpin." He explained in a soft, gentle voice.
