[Day 4, Early Evening] A Token Gesture (Closed-ish)

Yukari sat behind the privacy curtain she'd used to divide her room, got out her needle and thread, and got to work on something personal.
First things first...
She hummed to herself as she did a ridiculously good job in the basic construction. It was a simple thing she was making, but maybe it was using the good silk from the end of her obi- either way, it would more than do the job.
All right, up next... the embroidery...
An impish impulse possessed her, and she decided she'd put a design on both sides. One one, a salamander. Given his self-appointed wardenship, it would be fitting, and socially acceptable.
Then she could use the salamander to mask the stitches needed to put a red rosebud on the other side.
All right, one down... one to go.
Up next, something for Akari....
I do owe her a painting, but maybe I should wait until the storm passes...
So she wrote a poem instead.
Yellow flame flickers
Shadows dance upon the sand
Scent of pear blossoms.
Yukari chewed her lip as she looked at the poem. Then nodded. No sense second-guessing herself. Not at this stage.
