[D1, LE] What a day, what a place (Open)

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"No she is an artisan, Ikebana is her specialty and she's here to catalog the plant-life on the island though I'm not sure if that is an official duty or self-imposed."

He looked out the window and then chuckled softly in amusement at something.

[Shiba Yukari]

"Wait, ikebana?!"

There's another ikebana enthusiast here?!

That was BETTER than her being a shugenja, as far as Yukari was concerned.

"I think my social calendar for tomorrow just got a bit... spoken for."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

This shook Kenzo from his moment of revelry. "Oh? Well I understand."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, no, no, the swimming lesson is still on, just... sorry, sorry, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I'm glad that both of you will have someone you can indulge a passion with. I like flowers just fine and know a bit about plants but nothing beats having a fellow enthusiast to talk with." The smile returned to his features. "So I won't be too heartbroken if you don't make it to the cove with Akari-sama and I but you would miss the sunset and fresh clams."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, ah, as I said, I fully intend to try my hand at swimming, just... sorry, but having someone else to help with planning the garden... do you think she'd be amenable to using local plants? How much of a traditionalist does she seem to be?"

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"I do not know her well, we met on the boat but she seems VERY into plants and interested to see what this place has. She is probably planning a garden herself to be honest."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Hm, well, I'd hate to step on her toes or duplicate effort- especially when collaboration is so much more rewarding..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"You two should work well together, anything else would shock me. So what are your favorite flowers and plants?"

[Shiba Yukari]

"Well, I don't like to play favorites- they all have something to offer, after all- but I'll admit a fondness for fruit trees. That said, back home I mostly cultivated Azaleas. On this island... who can say? I didn't want to subject any of my plants to the risks of a sea voyage..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"That's understandable but not even some seeds? I'm a big fan of Manjushage and Lotus flowers though that may be because they are always around water and I love water."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Oh, I brought some seeds, but until I know more about the soil here, and the humidity, and about the local flora I'm not sure I want to put any of them through that either..."

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"Sadly any fruit trees will take years to yield fruit, I would be thrilled to find a pear tree on the island."

[Shiba Yukari]

"Seems a bit warm for pear trees, although I suppose some other type could grow here. Actually, I doubt winters here are cold enough for peach trees to thrive, either."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

Doji Hanatsuko wanted a snack before bed so she decided to return to the little rustic place. She noted her clanmate and a Phoenix decided to join them. The Doji kept a respectful distance and would join in the conversation when allowed.

[Daidoji Kenzo]

"No pears or peaches, that's a shame." Kenzo noted the Doji's entrance. "Hanatsuko-san, please come and join us your timing is perfect. If you have not met this is Shiba Yukari, I was just telling her about you. You two share a common interest."

[Shiba Yukari]

Yukari turned, spotted the other crane, and rose to her feet to offer a polite bow.

"I understand Doji-san has an interest in flowers?"

[Doji Hanatsuko]

The Doji took out her fan and nodded. "It is an honor to meet you, Shiba san." The Crane gave a bow. "I am a flower enthusiast." She took a seat.

[Shiba Yukari]

"I'm glad to hear it- ikebana is one of my favored arts, and I have been thinking that this settlement could use a garden- perhaps around the shrine I've been tasked with getting built? But I would be keen to collaborate with a fellow aficionado."

[Doji Hanatsuko]

"A garden... oh... most interesting. I can help with that. I am here to document the flora of the place and making a garden with the local flora would be interesting." The Doji nodded. "Perhaps we can find the meanings of these flowers together."
